It has been a year since Kokichi Ouma and the rest of the students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died, and after some time recovering in the hospital, everyone was free to carry on with their lives, though everyone chose to keep in close contact.

Kokichi now is in a romantic relationship with Kaede Akamatsu and lives in an apartment with her. Kaede was also the one who gave him the idea to start acting after a comment on how he was like during the Killing Game, so whenever he is left alone, he practices and reads from a bunch of scripts. The one he is currently using has something to do with phantom thieves, which was a role he wanted to play.

“Foolish detective, It looks like you haven’t even found out... What I’m truly after is more precious than all the treasure in the world combined!” Kokichi spoke out in a sly and dramatic voice, there was barely a tint of his previous exhaustion either. He stood rigid with the script in his hands, blissfully unaware that Kaede was watching.
