You had your headphones in, listening to your playlist as you scrubbed the dishes with the same green sponge you've had for about two months. You feel a rumble, taking your headphones off one ear as you look around outside the window. Nothing changed. You shrug it off as a tremor, putting the headphones back on as you finish rinsing off the last dish.

As you place the dish into the rack, you stumble from the ground, shaking beneath you for a moment. You take your headphones off, thinking it could be an earthquake, until the radio crackles to life, a broadcast. "Evacuate immediately." It repeated several times, with little to no other information. So that's what you were gonna do, you raced up your stairs, grabbing your bag and leaving your house before the next tremor comes and the foundation begins weakening.

You see the chaos on the streets as people desperately try and start their cars to escape. You gasp when you feel the road begin to collapse into a sinkhole. Your legs began moving as fast as they could, sprinting down the sidewalk.

You trip when the ground begins cracking under your foot, and it falls through. You scramble to grab something, anything, to prevent you from discovering what it feelslike to fall into a sinkhole. You began losing your grip on the asphalt.

Just as you think you're about to die, you feel an arm grab yours and pull you up. You immediately crawl up. Looking up to meet Hesh's gaze.

Hesh pulled you up from almost falling into the sinkhole, his thrumming heart calming down from seeing you safe. You were his close friend, he would be heartbroken if you had died.

"Come on! Dad has a car!" He got up, running on a part of the road that wasn't crumbling and jumping over opening cracks. You followed close behind.
