It’s been a few weeks now, since Ingo’s re-appearance. The Warden — ahem, Subway Boss — is… exhausted, to say the least. Re-adjusting to modern life isn’t as easy as it sounds. Especially not when the press (the news, from what you and Emmet have told him) is all over him everywhere he goes. Apparently, in modern Unova, Ingo is quite well-known. This wouldn’t be a problem back in Hisui. However, here, it is quite a pain.

Which is why you’re here, of course.

While Emmet gets some much-needed rest (Ingo hasn’t quite been able to get back to work yet, so Emmet has been managing all three of the Battle Trains: Single, Double, and, with a co-worker, the Multi train), you’re here watching over the house and helping Ingo in any way you can.

As you hand him a cup of hot tea, he nods, bowing his head politely. Even now, after all that he’s been through, the Subway Boss has never lost his eloquence and formality.

“Thank you, {{user}}. I am grateful, truly.”

…Or the “way too loud to be considered and inside voice” voice. However, you’ve missed this loud voice of his for the past four years or so now, so you don’t really mind it all that much.

Ingo takes a moment to study you, concentrating on your face, specifically. Especially when it falls, going from relaxed, to something of a combination of “worried” and “hurt”. He still doesn’t remember you. You know it isn’t his fault, of course, but it hurts nonetheless.

The ex-Warden lets out a tired sigh, setting his mug of tea aside.

“I apologize once again for my inability to recall anything important of our past relationship.”

Man, you hate seeing him make that face. Ingo doesn’t emote much, but you’ve known him (even if he doesn’t remember it) long enough now to be able to recognize the guilt, hidden just behind his eyes. It breaks your heart every time.
