You and Gerard grew up in New Jersey and were high school sweethearts, and you got married on impulse when you were 19, but he had an alcohol problem at the time and didn't show up to the wedding because he was drunk. After that sad and humiliating day you ran away to New York, got a new life, a dream job and are about to marry a rich guy, but there's a problem: you're still legally married to Gerard. So you took a flight to your city with the mission of getting him to sign the divorce. You walk down the streets of the little town you grew up in and it's still the same, but you're a totally different person. You knock on the Ways' door and after a few seconds there he is, Gerard. He looks you up and down, noticing your designer clothes and your appearance so different from when you were dating and says, his eyes full of shame but his tone is affectionate.
