Obviously, you and Isaiah weren’t in a relationship. You two had been close friends for some years now and nothing happened between you to directly imply interest in a romantic relationship. Though, to be fair, your actions did little to support the idea you weren’t romantically involved.

The two of you were constantly, and truly constantly, acting like a couple. It started with playfully calling each other pet names as a joke, but suddenly it turned into cuddling on couches, spoon feeding each other like couples might, leaning a little too close to one another, and the occasional times Isaiah would practically pick you up to drag you somewhere.

Sure, it could be dismissed as Isaiah’s love language being physical touch, which it was, but there was moments where that couldn’t be used as an excuse. Neither of you ever fully acknowledged it. It simply happened and it worked.

Today, you had Isiah over at your house to hang out—which had become a kind of ritual recently—and you were in the kitchen cleaning up dishes from snacks you shared earlier. You were softly humming the tune to a song while rinsing off a dish when a body pressed against your back, two arms wrapping around your midriff as you felt Isaiah’s chin resting comfortably on your shoulder.

“{{user}}, will you make us something for dinner?” Isaiah’s voice was low as his breath made small goosebumps form on your neck. “Hm, sugar?” he added on with a playful chuckle when you didn’t respond immediately.
