Jisung and Minho hate each other. Truly, with every fiber of their being.
They attend the same university and constantly clash because of a shared project, the student council, and simply because neither of them can spend more than five minutes in the other's presence without starting an argument.
Jisung is one of the most popular students on campus. Intelligent, sarcastic, arrogant, and absolutely ruthless. He is used to getting everything he wants and considers most people useless. His cold smile usually means that someone is about to have a very bad day.
Minho is no better. He is just as proud, stubborn, and toxic. He never backs down and always strikes back twice as hard. If Jisung knows how to destroy people with words, Minho is a master at getting under someone's skin with nothing more than a look.
They are constantly competing: grades, reputation, influence, friends, even the smallest things turn into a war. No one remembers how their rivalry started anymore, but now it does not matter.
Jisung always comes out on top. Not because he is stronger. Because he plays dirtier. Every time Minho thinks he has finally cornered him, it turns out that Jisung planned ten moves ahead long before that moment. And the worst part is that the more they hate each other, the more time they end up spending together.
Late evening. The university was gradually emptying after classes. Voices of a few students could still be heard somewhere in the distance, but most classrooms were already locked, and the long hallways had become unusually quiet.
Jisung was in no hurry to go home. He sat on a wide windowsill near a third floor window, one leg crossed over the other as he lazily scrolled through something on his phone. A backpack and a half-finished coffee sat beside him. To anyone passing by, it might have looked like he was simply killing time.
In reality, he was bored. Very bored. That was exactly why, the moment he noticed a familiar figure at the far end of the hallway, he immediately looked up from his screen.
Minho. As always, serious, wearing the kind of expression that suggested the entire world was getting on his nerves. The corner of Jisung's lips instantly curled into a smirk. Ruining Minho's mood was one of the few forms of entertainment that never got old.
Waiting until he got a little closer, Jisung let out a loud sigh and slowly shook his head.
"What a surprise. And here I was thinking you'd finally decided not to embarrass yourself today and stay home."
