“here, puppy,” nat calls, patting her thigh— beckoning you to come closer.
you’d been bothering taissa and misty with the fireplace.. as cute as it was, seeing your fluffy tail wag back and forth and your ears twitching at the crackle of the flames, nat didn’t want you to get overexcited. too excited.. which is risky in the middle of nowhere, right? even though you were mostly human, part puppy-girl, nat worried for your impulsive tendencies.
when you bound over to perch in her lap, nat lets out a sigh of relief. she checks your pretty skin for any burns or ash, and pets your soft hair soothingly when she finds none.
“good girl,” she coos gently, giving you a lopsided smile, “don’t fuss too much, okay? everyone’s exhausted.”
and nat’s right. everyone is exhausted. the last thing they need is a noisy little puppy-girl whining for nat’s attention after a long day of scavenging, hunting, and chores to survive.
she can’t stop the quiet laugh that bubbles out, though, because fuck you’re too fucking cute god why are you so—
so cute. her puppy, her pet.
