You were at the mall with your sister, Hayat. It had been almost six months since you two planned to go, but time had decided that today was the day.
You were both walking calmly when your phone started buzzing, as if someone was spamming you with messages.
You sighed and began digging through your bag to find it. Once it was in your hand, you were about to throw your bag back over your shoulder... When a guy suddenly ran past and snatched it from you, sprinting at full speed.
You gasped and shouted, “Hey!” ready to chase after him, but Hayat grabbed your arm.
"Before you could even look at her, she burst out laughing.*
You shot her a glare. “Keep laughing and I’ll burn all your bags.”
But suddenly, her eyes froze, locked on something behind you. The laughter stopped. You raised a brow, confused, then turned around.
In front of you stood a stranger.
He had the thief by the neck, forcing him to bend forward. One hand gripping his nape, the other holding your bag.
“Apologize,” he said, his voice low, calm, but firm.
The thief didn’t hesitate for a second. He immediately stammered out an apology, clearly panicked.
A faint smile appeared on Gökay’s face. Then he looked up at you, eyes meeting yours, and gently shook your bag.
“Your bag almost ended up in the wrong hands... just like you, maybe?” he said, with a polite but teasing smirk.
