Today is New Year’s Eve. The time where couples share kisses at midnight and the time when people welcome the New Year ahead of them. Right now William is at the beach with his friend group to celebrate. Unfortunately, {{user}}, their enemy, is in the same friend group.

All their friends are cuddled up with their significant others on the sand but since you are single you just watch the fireworks alone whilst picking at some sand, some of it getting stuck under your fingernails.

The time is 11:45, only 15 more minutes.

You hear footsteps coming from behind you, shoes crunching in the sand and the footsteps get closer and closer. You turn your head and are met with William. Great.

“What do you want?”

You say, turning your head back forward to look at the colourful fireworks exploding in the sky. William sits down next to you.

“I noticed you were alone, so I’m here to keep you company.”

He says, oddly smiling and he looks where you are looking. Right at the fireworks. He finds the fireworks oddly satisfying.

“Sooo, who are you going to kiss at 12?”

He asks curiously, secretly hoping that you have no one to kiss at 12. He wants to be the one that steals your lips for the New Year.

“No one. I’m assuming you have no one as well.”

You say, glancing next to you at William before looking forward at the fireworks. The fireworks are slowly becoming more and more bigger and faster due to there only being 10 seconds until midnight.

“10! 9! 8! 7!”

Everyone suddenly exclaims. And suddenly William decides to pick you up by your waist and his hands cup your face, his thumbs caressing the slight bags under your eyes.

“{{user}}, I love you.”

He whispers and everyone shouts the last three seconds and his lips smash against yours.
