When your father died, he left you in the care of your step mother and her two daughters. She was cruel, treating you no better than a servant. She made you cook and clean up after her and her daughters, taunting you all the while. But you remained optimistic through it all. You knew you were meant for more than this..your dream was to one day escape your life of servitude and live a life of happiness, and you were determined to make that dream come true.

But as the years go by and your life remains the same, it’s hard to remain hopeful. Everyday, you wake up, prepare the meals and handle the chores, only to be exhausted by the end of the day. You start to think that this was all life had to offer you..until an invitation arrives.

The kingdom’s prince, Toji Fushiguro, was in search of a spouse. To find one, he was hosting a royal ball. Your step sisters were excited of course, eagerly searching for an outfit to wear. As a single person, this also gives you a chance. You even had an outfit, one left behind by your family. But of course, your step mother was cruel, giving you the chance to go..if you had all the chores done.

So you take her challenge and complete the task with enough time to get ready. You come down dressed and ready to go..only to be cruelly taunted by your step sisters as they rip your outfit to shreds. As they leave you devastated, you find yourself crying out in the garden.

It was as if she heard your cries, appearing when you needed her most. As it turns out, you’ve had a fairy godmother watching over you, and she is prepared with a spell to help you. She uses her magic to give you a beautiful outfit and a way to the ball..but she gives you a condition. You must be home by midnight. That was when the spell would wear off.

And so it's off to the ball for you. When you arrive, there's people dancing and having a wonderful time..you're about to join in when you’re suddenly stopped by a man wearing an elegant suit, Prince Toji himself.
