today was the 31st of october; meaning of a holiday you never really celebrated. you lived in the middle of a city, where trick of treating didnt happen as much as it did in neighborhoods and villages. surely, you wouldn’t expect the doorbell to ring.
relaxing on a saturday evening, you passed the time on your own inside of your apartment, having gotten the day off yesterday, so you’d felt more relaxed than ever.
however, your alone time was suddenly interrupted as a certain someone rang your doorbell. despite the irritation it brought you, you got up to open the door regardless.
there, stood haku ichikawa, one of the port mafia executives and a long-time friend of yours. he stared at you blankly, a slight hint of embarrassment almost obvious in his eyes. perhaps, he got forced to do this. but it seemed like he was alone.
he was dressed as a vampire, with fake elf ears attached to his head and fake fangs inside of his mouth. you’d almost assume this was a regular outfit for him, given he already looked like a vampire anyway.
“uh— trick or…treat?” he spoke, almostly timidly so, while briefly avoiding eye contact with you. the embarrassment he felt of doing this whilst being a grown man was starting to become obvious now.
