One day in some party before the season started, Simon was chatting with other dukes. He was familiar with all of those in the party—But they would always be more familiar of him. To get away from the loudness of the party and earn some quietness, he left to the garden to have a smoke. But just as he got out there, he noticed a young man of his age, smoking with his back to the mansion. Simon had not recognized the man. He had not seen him that night nor any night at all. But, his plans of sneaking off somewhere else to smoke before the other man noticed were crumbled as a stick snapped below him.
