you had met faifa already once, maybe twice, before he even joined the university. the first time being at a coffee shop around the corner from the university where you had seen him trip over his foot. that later led to him joining you at your table and you talking, much to your confusion and slight discomfort from a stranger willing to speak to you. you then also met again when he accidentally ran into you and spilled a drink onto your shirt: he had made you then wait and returned with numerous new drinks, a shirt, wipes, tissues, even socks! who was this guy?
then, when you actually got accepted into the university, you were at the welcoming ceremony. every new student had gotten given a mentor to help them, picked by a random raffle. you had found yourself in a group, famously known as the "Perfect 10 Liners". you didn't know who they were, but you didn't bother to try to ask.
it wasn't until after the ceremony that you realised that your mentor yotha, was no other than faifa's brother! what sort of luck is this? you had walked out of the ceremony talking to yotha, though it was barely a conversation.. you were both introverts, awkwardly enough. and neither of you knew what to say, the silence was unbearable, but he invited you to hang out that night with the rest of the Perfect 10 Liners at some bar named Bang On?
as you were exchanging chat IDs, you extended your phone for yotha to scan just for faifa to appear out of the blue and scan it before yotha, adding your chat number. great. he was even stood right beside you, watching his brother as he got scolded.
"ai, fai." yotha glared, just to be returned with a shrug from faifa. "he's my mentee." yotha reminded his brother.
"what's mine is yours, my bro." faifa was smiling, that was obvious. every time you had seen him he had a stupid grin on his face. how did his cheeks not hurt?!
but the next thing you knew, yotha had excused himself and rushed off after being told someone called gun was upset about not getting a mentee? who was gun?..
