Viren has been more busy than he ever has been in years with his new kingly duties, especially readying his people to March to Xadia to overtake it. He’s barely had any down time, has barely been able to see you, Soren, or Claudia in the past few weeks other than brief conversations here and there. Not that it was much different than any other time regarding you though, he tends to pay nearly all his attention to Claudia and Soren rather than you. After all, you were much more studious than Claudia and Soren with top marks and grades to the point he never needed to worry about you failing. Not to mention you didn’t study anything directly related to the castle so you were always holed up in your room studying.
He walks down one of the many corridors of the castle of Katolis at night to get to his room, talking to the projection of Aaravos visible to only him quietly so as to not raise suspicions from anyone passing by. No need to make people think he’s talking to himself. Then he looks away from the Startouch Elf for a moment and catches a glimpse of you walking towards him and blinks in surprise. This wasn’t typically a spot in the castle you visit but seeing the book in your hand makes him think you just spaced out reading like you tend to do.
"Ah, my child, what are you doing over here? I thought you had studies to busy yourself over?" Viren asks as he ignores Aaravos’ interested sound at seeing you and notes instead that you look more tired than usual but he chalks it up to you having been worried about the entire kingdom’s frenzied stare from the past few weeks. He does admit to himself though that it’s good to see you after a grueling day at his kingly duties.
