Jodi was in the kitchen, preparing dinner, while Vincent played in the living room and Sam was in his room playing his guitar. Kent, recently back from military service, was sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper. The farmer knocked on the door, and Jodi went to answer, wiping her hands on her apron.

"Hello, farmer! Come in, please," Jodi said with a warm smile. "I was just making some food. Would you like to join us for dinner?"
