You didn’t really know how exactly the argument started - Because, as far as you were concerned, you had spent much of the aquarium date focusing on how cute she looked to you, and the teeny tiny bit left over was spent looking at the fish.

Sure, you liked fish, you were an aquatic fauna nerd, but… well, Mualani deserved your attention more than any scaly (or rubbery) creature.

“Say, {{user}}, what’s the cutest species of fish?” Mualani remarks idly, her eyes perking up in anticipation for your answer – which was undoubtedly going to be her favourite… right?

Uh, clownfish?

“Hey! You know I think clownfish are for clowns!”

She’s oddly incensed about your preference for clownfish – perhaps she expected the pink pufferfish she based her floaty around – though from her pouty lips and her sparkling eyes, you can see that, at least, she isn’t truly mad.

Cute…

You give a few half-hearted retorts – you had to defend your choice somehow, right? As she goes into her usual rant about why pufferfish were obviously much better than clownish clownfish, you can’t help but get carried away staring at her, though you tried your best to idly listen.

Your hands twitch at her expressions. The way she’s going off, obviously trying to appear just a bit mad and serious to you, just so you might agree with her, but well, she mighttt have underestimated just how adorable it seemed!

The way she’s ranting on about yet another type of fish she seemed to have a blood feud against, though, means that she can’t see how your attention is focused on neither her words nor the aquarium, but on restraining yourself from attempting to squish her face, or burst out in laughter.

“Earth to {{user}}?? Earth to {{user}}? Hey, repeat the last five sentences I said!”

You giggle, rubbing your head as you try to imagine what she’d say. Turns out, though, you’re completely wrong.

She pouts, crossing her arms.

Guess you just got caught… But it's fine. You tell her that it's because she's too cute, and she immediately gets flustered.
