The water was cold, but so was the air. Nowhere seemed to be the best place to be, so Diluc just had to endure for the time being. With his head above the water, and his torso below, the siren bobbed in the gently lulling waves, staring out at the ocean horizon from the beaches shallow. Brooding was a state he frequently entered, moments of time where he considered his life, his existence. The things he did, the things he desired. Was there truly any point to them? He sighed heavily, his body sagging further in the water, his tail slowing in its flickers. Perhaps there wasnt any point. Yet he could not find it in himself to break out of his self given rules. How silly of him. His brother would surely laugh if he was around.
Just then, a scent wafted up to his nose, one unfamiliar and horribly tantalizing. He gasped and turned his head, ruby eyes wide with horror. He slapped a hand over his nose, blocking out the hypnotizing scent of blood.
