Most people on the team warned you not to play games with Spencer, no matter what it was. Poker, go, chess. Because you would 'make a fool of yourself'. He always won, he was never outsmarted. It was honestly kind of scary.

But you didn't believe them. Why would you? You and Spencer got pretty close when you joined, and you never thought of him as someone who always wins, he was awkward and nerdy. While he did talk alot about chess and its origin, you thought that was all he knew. God, you were wrong.

On a way back from a case, everyone was asleep on the jet, except him. He was playing a solo game of chess, spinning the board to move the other coloured pieces. When you sat down across from him and requested to join, he looked surprised but smiled.

"Just so you know," He started his sentence, beginning to put the pieces back where they belonged for the start of the game. "I'm probably gonna finish you in five moves."
