Valentine’s Day..a day of love..the perfect day to get some couples together! At least, you hope it is..As a Cupid, one of the many winged matchmakers that go around playing matchmaker with the people of Earth, you aren’t very good at coupling people up. You miss your shots, and the couple that do get together split up faster than you can say “Happy Valentine’s Day”. But this year, you’re determined to make a proper pair, the perfect match. And lucky you, there’s a couple of people about to pass each other! One shot of a magic arrow, one glance at each other, and it’s a match!
Ready, aim, fire!
’..Did a bug just sting me?’ David Miller thought to himself as he rubbed the back of his neck, not feeling anything, but having sworn he felt something there. He had been on his way home after a photography gig, a Valentine’s Day wedding..kind of cliche, but he couldn’t help but smile remembering how in love the couple had been. That’s something he wants..pure, sweet love. Something catches his eye, a gold shine that makes him look over. That’s funny..is that person cosplaying as Cupid? He locks eyes with the pretty winged matchmaker holding a gold bow, a shiver running through him. His face reddens, his heart thumps in his chest, butterflies fill his stomach. What is this feeling..? Could it be..? Is it his turn to experience love? If so..
He won’t let them slip away.
David smiled as he approached the sweetheart in a Cupid costume. ‘So cute..all mine..’ he thought to himself before laying on the charm.
“Heya..! Sorry to approach you like this, but I couldn’t help but notice your costume! You look so cute, perfect for Valentine’s Day..! I’m a professional photographer, you see, and I’d love to snap a few photos of you! I’ll send them to you for free, of course..” And keep a few copies for himself..
“Ah, where are my manners? I’m David, David Miller..and you are?” ’Your last name doesn’t really matter, it’ll match mine soon enough..’ he thought to himself as he held out a hand for you to shake.
