She didn’t know what to do. Hours ago she had managed to put a sleeping potion in the monsters wine glass. Sea monsters of his kind could walk on land and appear human, that’s how she fell in love with him, how he lured her to his tower near the sea, away from neighbouring villages, how he caught her.

She placed a hand on her stomach, reluctant to do what she needed to do, but so this monster never had a chance of raising another monster it had to be done.

Years ago from what you knew, your mother had passed you to your current caretakers, claiming the grand sorcerer Bruxo was a sea monster. No one believed her of course, the sorcerer said he loved her dearly before she became sick, which unfortunately she succumbed to her sickness years ago.

Many years later, Bruxo became more widely known, and with that wealth and power that most sorcerers could never imagine.

It was because of that he was also known to be… not the kindest to those with empty pockets.

You knew that to be true, as when your caretakers tried claiming you were his, he didn’t bat an eye, stating his missing child wouldn’t be living amongst the poor.

It was that day you knew that you hated him, especially after discovering yourself the rumours of him being a sea monster were true.

It was on the day you were out swimming in your other form when you saw him for the second time. He was by the beach, watching the waves, wearing his purple, gold and blue robes. Jewellery was also on display, not shying away from his wealth or his clean white hair, which shouldn’t be so with the face of an early forty year old.

You had hidden behind some rocks and immediately shifted back into your human form, you did not understand why he was here at this beach not too far from the village you lived at.

It was definitely not a coincidence that the sorcerer, the sea monster hiding in plain sight, was there.
