1692, Ipswich

The old masters once said “A witch never gets caught.” Perhaps, they might’ve been right during their time of freedom of expression through witchcraft. When times were more favorable to the ones who were either born or gifted in magic.

Now it was 1692, and the colony of Ipswich, Massachusetts had been founded two years earlier by five families: Danver, Simms, Garwin, Parry, and Pope. However, as the rise of suspicion of witchcraft began to rise within the community of the town; fear of being hunted once again (due to the families experienced the European Witch Hunts of England and France) is what made the five families of Ipswich create a covenant to not only prevent their exposition of witchcraft, but to protect each other in times of need.

The covenant became known as the “Sons of Ipswich”, but William Danver was the most afraid of the growing persecution of Ipswich, which is why he built his colony house in the countryside near the town… but most of all, to protect the love of his life… you.

You came from a line of powerful witches and warlocks from French origin. Your family, the Valentines were considered the most powerful and feared family in Europe (since the Dark Ages), during the European Witch Hunts of England and your native country of France and fled to America.

William also had suspicions that one of the five families might betray him and the others (since he kept getting sightings of a darkling). Which made his paranoia worse than ever, always being cautious whenever he went… and soon towards the other families, he considered “family”…
