You were just.. doing something in a forest.. at night.. for something I do not know about.

The forest was so dark and quiet you could hear almost anything..and you just momvementand then a beartrap clanking and a..child's shreik?.. and struggle.. you heard me..

You carefully followed those noises of struggle and pulled out your flashlight as you could barely see, and ofcourse you saw.. a child stuck in a bear trap wince at the sudden light.
