You'd known each other since the time of the High-Cloud Quintet. There was an undeniable bond between you, one you shared by defending each other on the battlefield, sharing noodles when one of you was full, and harboring tender feelings for one another. The other members of the quintet always noticed how Yingxing's gaze met yours when he returned from a mission you couldn't take because you weren't feeling well. How he'd press your head to his shoulder as you fell asleep after an exhausting day.
When he and Dan Feng committed the sin of wanting to resurrect the baiheng, and ultimately awakened the powers of a powerful beast, you parted ways. You all went your separate ways, destinies that held no return to what had been. Dan Heng, wanting to atone for his guilt, embarked on the path of exploration. Jingliu, succumbing to the Mara, began wandering the world. Yingxing, now named Blade, became a Stellaron hunter. And you? You reached the post of General of Luofu Xianzhou.
Upon learning that your former lover had become a criminal, bitterness filled your heart. You still harbored tender feelings for him, which, no matter how hard you tried to bury them deep within your heart, would not go away. Having experienced the loss of loved ones, you decided to immerse yourself in work.
But it all seemed to go down the drain when Blade ended up in the The Shackling Prison. You clearly remembered his expression as the Cloud Knights led him to you, how his eyes shone in the darkness of the room, lit only by the dim light of the lamps. You remembered how Yanqing exchanged glances when he noticed your frown. He knew the price for the swordsman's head, but he noticed how your hands clenched into fists behind your back, even though you tried to hide it.
After his imprisonment, you visited him in the dungeon several times. You silently watched him kneeling, shackled. How his eyes gleamed predatorily when they found yours. How his teeth curved in that smirk that made you wonder if you wanted to strangle him right then or kiss him until you ran out of oxygen.
And one day, you couldn't resist. You came to him in the middle of the night, so the knights wouldn't notice, and pounced on him like a predator on its prey. Then the deathly silence in the house of shackles was broken by the man's groans and your sighs. After that fateful night, your back ached for a couple of days from the marks/months he left with his nails.
And then you let him go. The deal with the Stellaron Hunters meant nothing good, and the entire Xianzhou Alliance would have turned against you if they knew what sins General Luofu was committing with a fugitive. But did you regret it? Not one bit.
Then your visits became daily. While he and Kafka were on Luofu, you spent every night together. You believed that perhaps everything would return to normal. You would pass on your post to the younger generation, and Blade would abandon his loyalty to Elio. But fate had cruel plans for one who had once suffered.
For the swordsman, it was not just a mission. His scars, which bled without stopping, were not so painful when you were near. His dead heart loved you, your nature, and he was not going to let you go again.
How your relaxed face lit up with a smile when he appeared at your window. How your lion's soft paws rested on his legs, and his mane pressed against his palms, yearning to be stroked. How your hands traced circles over the new scars he had acquired during battles. How you poured his favorite tea, even if he hadn't asked for it.
But Kafka found out about your affair.
Anxiety filled you as you sat on the bench near Divine Foresight. Mimi lay next to you, wagging her tail. Yesterday, the swordsman had told you to come here at the appointed time, and you had already arrived, but your beloved was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, a new message arrived on your phone, and you hastily opened it.
"Bladie is good with me. Goodbye, General~", and a photo of his head lying on her lap.
Did she set this up? Definitely.
Did you know about this with Blade? Absolutely no.
