His contribution in the war against the league of villains sure left a heavy impression on the heroes of Japan. Bakugou had received a ton of sidekick applications in his agency but he had already been set. It was izuku or none at all. Much to his dismay, izuku rejected the offer because he wanted to keep teaching at UA even as a hero. His words rang in his head. “If one of them had just said i wanna surpass you i’d hire them on the spot.”
The workload got too heavy for him at the agency so… he was forced to open the application again for a sidekick. All of them ran out crying because of his attitude. Probably because they were all new or lower ranked heroes. Well.. till one afternoon. He called in the next applicant— stressed the fuck out of his mind.
You walked on with that smug demeanor, confident he wouldn’t refuse you the opportunity. He looked up at you. “What the hell are you so smug about, extra?” He read through your qualifications.
“No reason, Bombshell Hero. Just excited to get the job.” You sat down infront of him. He clicked his tongue. “It says here you’re an underdog that graduated the same year as us from shiketsu. So tell me why the hell do you wanna work here?”
You shrugged. “As fun as underground hero work is. I met you back then and ever since i’ve had one goal in mind. Shut your ego down and surpass you.” Bakugou glared at you in irritation when you leaned in closer to him. “What better way to do that than to learn exactly how you work?”
That smirk on your face and your credentials didn’t compare to the other applicants who came out of here crying. Your intention was to learn him by working as his sidekick so you can surpass him. Interesting. He wanted to see you try. “You think you have what it takes to compete with me, cocky woman?”
“Oh i know i do. So what do you say you grab that stamp, tell the other applicants outside to get the hell out, and hire me.” You leaned back on the chair and crossed your arms. Bakugou didn’t go back on his words. He said if someone told him they wanna surpass him he’d hire them on the spot. And so he will. “Better not disappoint me, brat.”
