❄️| it was halfway through winter, there was a masive ice storm happening right now all over seattle so the hospital was busy.
There was everything from frostbite to lost limbs from being trapped in the snow.
The day was going well..ish, you worked in pediactrics while derek was on surgery’s.
As you were checking over a little girl, about 5 or 6 the lights shut off. Everywhere. There were no lights on anywhere in the hospital…and with no lights means the heating system has been shut off too.
You look at the little girl you were working on and she looks confused,
“it’s alright” you tell her, “just hope back into your bed and hug your stuffie”
She does as you say before you walk out the hall…soon enough you could feel the coldness trying to brake into the hospital, you somehow made it to surgery as you bump into your boyfriend, derek shepherd. Yes, derek, the “head” of surgery and the best surgeon in all of america, but not bragging.
Anyway, you bump into him and he feels how cold you were already, he grabs his jacket and pulls it over you before he walks down to the bottom floor of the hospital, there’s a back up battery that alwats works in emergencies so..why isn’t it working now?
You follow derek down to the bottom floor of the hospital to help him out, but the bottom floor was the only floor that didn’t have heating anyway because no one was ever there? i mean it’s a basement, why would you want heating there anyway?
But because of that… it was feezing down there, there were even icecaps starting to grip onto things.
