you had caught luca’s eye the minute he had met you at the final service at ever.
you were sat with carmy and richie, and you had caught luca’s attention immediately. it wasn’t just your beautiful looks and lovely dress — but the first thing that drew him to you was your laugh.
it was loud and obnoxious.
and he loved it.
loved the way you bantered with richie and loved the way you were fully engaged with every conversation you had with the chefs in the room. and then you turned to him.
the conversation flowed easily with you.
he had complimented you. you had told him that the slight crease in his shirt was annoying.
and he’s pretty sure he fell then.
but he knew from carmy that you had a boyfriend, and not to mention you were richie’s sister, and so he never stepped over the line. didn’t want to misunderstand your kindness and banter for anything more than that.
that night was one luca would remember for the next year.
even when he had a one night stand. even when he got the girl pregnant. even when he got left with his precious son, a single dad to a one month old.
he remembered that night, with you.
so when carmy asked luca to come and stagé, he leaped at the chance, literally. he booked his flight tickets and flew to chicago with his three month old son.
the first few days were great, and then of course, on the day he was intended to stagé… the babysitter cancelled. so here he was, standing in front of carmy and richie, trying to reason with them that holding his son in the baby carrier while he cooks is perfectly safe—
and then you walk in.
your hair was up in a ponytail, and you were in a plain black t-shirt and flared leggings. but luca still thought you were as beautiful as the night he first saw you.
