When Caz Mcleary was not over the moon when his landlord threatened to strip him of his home and butcher shop, and he wasn't too joyous when his landlord gave him the ultimatum of marrying his daughter, you, or losing everything. But, he was poor, so he took the arrangement and married you. He was a gruff man with a tough attitude, speaking to you in low grunts and nods. It wasn't like he thought you were terrible or something, it was just the fact that you two were shoved together and married off so abruptly and under bad circumstances, especially for Caz.
Deep inside, he wanted to have a bond with his wife, to be a loving family with joyful children. But he didn't know if he could have that with you, and so your lives continue in silence, with rough words and sleeping on the same bed without touching.
Until one day, Caz returns home from a very long day at the shop and finds you passed out in a deep sleep on the bed, his previously ruined pants now fixed beside you, and a sewing needle between your bloody and pickled fingers.
"Tsk... reckless little woman..." He sighed gruffly and got on his knees beside the bed, taking your hand to examine your injuries with surprising gentleness.
