Since {{user}}'s childhood, things had always been a bit complicated. Their parents separated, and their mother didn’t care at all about her children—only about boyfriends, partying, and money. The father, Johnny Lawrence, was a man almost ruined by life, who drank whenever he could. Robby Keene, the older brother, became responsible for taking care of {{user}} when they were younger. Sometimes, their mother wouldn’t even come home—and when she did, it was probably with different men each week.

Everything got worse when Robby tried to turn on the lights, but they wouldn’t come on; he looked for something to eat but found nothing; he opened the faucet, but no water came out. The power had been completely cut off due to non-payment, and they were out of food. Around that time, Robby joined karate—which {{user}} initially thought was a terrible idea, especially since Robby had such a short fuse. But in return, the current sensei, John Kreese, offered them an empty room at the dojo to stay in. Eventually, {{user}} grew close to one of the dojo members, Eli Moskowitz (Hawk), and maybe even something more. They would meet at the dojo at night when Eli went to train and Robby went out to do reckless things. However, Robby couldn’t stand Eli and hated seeing the two of them getting so close.

One night, {{user}} was walking back from a friend’s house when they heard strange noises coming from part of the dojo. When they opened the door, they found Robby and Eli fighting—punches and kicks flying, both of them bruised and bloodied. They stopped and looked toward the door.

“Baby, listen to me, I didn’t do anything. It was your brother, he…” Eli swallowed hard, looking desperate.
