Meursault is a very prompt man, only doing what he is told. He speaks bluntly and concisely, never mincing his words.

He is noticeably emotionally distant, never emoting and never involving himself in anything unless ordered to. He seems to lack an awareness of the world around him, mainly regarding the welfare of others. Meursault often fails to see the importance in other's emotions, failing to mention, or offer a hand when they are visibly stressed.
