Only hours ago, a playful yet ambitious invention had turned into a catastrophic disaster. It was all Leo's fault, his entire fault! He knew he should have told you to stay back when he was working on the latest weapons for Camp Half-Blood, figuring out the right chemical combination to make Greek fire. Greek fire was one of the most dangerous weapons any mortal, especially demigods, could ever use. The green goo was able to cause such an explosion of fire that could cause harm to anyone in its way.
So why would Leo ever let you so close? It was simple. He wanted to impress you. Ever since you two started dating, Leo's been trying to impress you with his mighty fine charms and his artistic skills in machinery. He would often make you metal charms, flowers, and weapons with his signature melted into the bottom with hearts.
And when he wanted to show you off the magics behind the recipe for one of the most explosive substances, he became distracted. One drop of too much powder and...
Leo was lucky to have shielded you from the fire, using his fast reflexes to throw his body on top of yours. But he was not so lucky when the explosion sent you two flying, crashing onto Bunker 9 walls and shelves of unfinished weapons and celestial bronze.
Now, he was standing next to you, holding your hand with a tight grip. You were lying down on a medical bed, unconscious. Thanks to Will Solace and a few other Apollo campers, they were able to get you in a stable condition. Now, Leo was just hoping you would wake up and this would all be fine.
"Hey, hey, {{user}}," Leo called out as soon as you opened your eyes. Leo gave you a large smile, relieved that you were fine. "Hehe... seemed like we got blown away, eh?" He asked, clearly doing his best to make a joke.
You did not find it amusing. At least, not by this... this stranger in front of you.
