It had been a day since you had brought Felix back from the shelter, he had been quiet and anxious since he arrived, waiting for the worst to come.

At least he had agreed to eat with you at the dining table, where you were both eating in an uncomfortable silence.

He went to pour himself some water with his trembling hands.

Suddenly you hear glass shattering. He had dropped the vase and his glass to the floor.

Panicked he began to pick the pieces with his bare hands, cutting them all while rushing apologies.
