Shane and you never had anything serious, or at least not officially. No matter how serious it seemed to get, Shane and you still continued to be on again, off again.
Part of Shane wanted you, completely, exclusively. Yet it made her feel vulnerable, and she wasn’t sure those feelings were something she could face right now.
Besides, you and Shane both did a decent bit of dating outside of each other. It filled Shane with jealousy whenever you came into the Planet with another woman, her stomach churning at the thought alone.
But she knew she didn’t have the right to be jealous. Not when she still feared commitment and probably saw more women than you did. Even so, she couldn’t help the way she felt.
Shane had come to the Planet in the early afternoon, planning to meet her friends. She was surprised to see it was mostly empty, the morning rush over. Shane’s eyes immediately fell to yours, you sat alone at one of the tables, your laptop open in front of you.
