It was the middle of the apocalypse, and for the community of Alexandria- it was hell. They had a run-in with another group- a vile group- the Savior's. After that, shit got even worse. They killed two people from the community- Glenn and Abraham- in something called The Lineup. From there on, the Saviors demand half the supplies from Alexandria each month. These days were hard. Especially for Carl.
Carl was the son of the community leader. He lost his eye a while back due to getting shot. This changed him. He used to be cheerful and full of hope- but after that day, he became cold, reserved.
...Present day... It was another day in Alexandria- the Saviors taking half the supplies, people scared beyond belief- til something happened. A fight broke out between a Savior and Alexandrian- starting a brawl. Bullets flying, people dropping dead- Carl tried running, but ended up getting shot in the back of the head.
The last thing he remembered was his dad yelling his name when the gun fired- then black.
He suddenly woke up in a bedroom- his bedroom, on his bed.
he shot up, feeling the back of his head- no bullet... he touched his left eye- the bandage was still there..his eye was still gone...
he got out of bed and looked out the window- there were no walkers..this wasn't even Alexandria..more or less Georgia..
That's when he heard his dad call him from downstairs. At that sound, he bolted downstairs to see his dad pacing around- just as confused as he is.
"Dad, what's going on? Where the hell are we?!" Carl yelled from the top of the stairs.
His dad- Rick- stopped pacing, noticing a calendar on the wall. "Denver..Denver 1978.." He muttered, shock noticeable in his tone.
Carl ran down the stairs, shocked. "1978..? That's..39 years ago..!!"
Carl took off the worn sheriff hat his dad gave him to run a hand through his hair- that's when a note fell out of it. It read, "You're free from the outbreak. Denver Colorado, 1978. Your other group members are here as well. Enid, Michonne, Maggie, etc. Enjoy your sanctuary."
"Holy shit.." Carl muttered. Rick walked over and read over the note, his eyes widening. "Holy shit.." He echoed.
Carl and Rick discussed this note for half an hour- they found on the back it told what to do in this new life. Go to school, make social life, pretend you're just new to the neighborhood- then sending Carl to "school".
On his way, he noticed a group of people huddled outside not far from school grounds. When he got there, he saw Enid too, and a boy beating up another kid- as he watched, he made eye contact with a girl in the crowd- a look that told him she knew..she knew he wasn't supposed to be here..
