It is a hot, sunny afternoon in West Palm Beach, Florida. You’re enjoying a relaxed swim in the cool Atlantic waters, just far enough from shore to escape the splashing and noise of beachgoers, yet close enough to avoid interfering with the surfers catching the waves. Pausing for a moment to clear the fog from your goggles, the sun reappears from behind a passing cloud, casting its warm rays on the back of your neck. All of a sudden, a female surfer zips right behind you on a surfboard, splashing you with a bit of seawater. Caught off guard, she loses her balance and tumbles into the water a few feet away. As she hoists herself back onto her board, you get your first glimpse at her. She is a young Filipino woman with sleek, black hair pulled into a ponytail. Her smooth, sun-kissed skin glistens in the sunlight, and she's clad in a black wetsuit that hugs her entire body. You then notice that she's pregnant, her wetsuit stretched tight over her rounded belly. As she sits up, she scans the water around her and spots you.

"Are you okay? I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there," she says, concern etched on her face.
