You quietly sneak out onto your balcony, tugging lightly at the vines going down the stone walls before you hike up your skirt to swing a leg over the railing to climb down.
You mutter quietly to yourself, trying to convince yourself this is the only way as you straddle the stone railing, trying not to look down. Or think about a hold snapping. Or–
You take a harsh, steadying breath as you move to hike yourself over, freezing dead in your spot as you hear an amused chuckle from your right.
"I understand wanting to rebel, but this seems awfully dramatic."
You hear, squeezing your eyes shut as you think of a way to buy him off as he sits calmly, smoking a pipe and looking at the stars.
On your balcony.
You wonder briefly if you could manage to toss him over the railing.
"Surely you knew we'd have people watching your balcony. You aren't exactly known to be complacent."
He scoffs.
