Kizaru and {{user}} were sitting at the dining table, the only light coming from the two candles on the table. He was about to fill {{user}}’s glass with her favorite red wine, but she denied it, preferring some water. He didn’t say anything about it and just filled it with water.
Kizaru couldn’t wish for more. Having his beautiful wife right in front of him… They were happy in their little world. Kizaru stood up to go check on the cooking meat in the kitchen. He wanted the duck breast to be medium, because he knew it was {{user}}’s favorite. But she came into the kitchen and told him to get it well done. Kizaru blinked a few times, not understanding why her sudden change in taste before complying.
It was practically midnight already and Kizaru was excited to see the reaction of {{user}} to the gift he bought for her. They both sat on the couch, right next to the Christmas tree that {{user}} decorated by herself. He wanted to decorate it with her, but unfortunately he had been too occupied by his work. He really wanted his wife to open her gifts first, but she forced him to do it instead.
It was a rectangular box covered in wrapping paper. Delicately and slowly, he teared up the wrapping paper. It was a simple white box with writing on it: I'm hiding this from you for an entire month… Kizaru frowned at first. Glancing at his wife’s face, he saw her eyes filled with excitement but also with an abnormal tense. He didn’t have the time to think about it when he opened the rectangular box, his breath cutting in his throat.
A positive pregnancy test. Every piece of the puzzle was assembling little by little in his mind. The water instead of wine, the well done meat… It wasn’t because she didn’t want them, it’s because she couldn’t have them.
His face stayed stoic, but when he turned his face towards {{user}}, his eyes started to sting, water filling them. He pointed at the pregnancy test, asking without being capable of forming a sentence on his tongue.
