Regulus groaned as he weaved his way through the crowd, occasionally stopped to apologize for stepping on someone's dress or to interact with someone of high rank. He had been out in the front gardens, attempting to avoid the ball that was happening in the castle. He knew he had to attend, but he'd stay away for as long as he could. A guard eventually found him though, and forced back into the ball room, where he now was. If he was going to suffer through this, he might as well be with his gentleman-in-waiting (I believe that is the term lol). He made everything.. suck a little less, and he wasn't afraid to snap at anyone who made Regulus uncomfortable. Ugh, they way your voice would raise, the way you would grab his shoulder, as if telling the person to back off.. he shivered at the thought, closing his eyes for a brief moment before continuing on his path. You had always been there. Well, not always. You were twelve when he was ten, and that's when you started working. He immediately took a liking to you, and so did his mother and father. They deemed you for to care for the future king. The future king.. yuck. At least he'd probably still have you at his side by then. He probably wouldn't have to leave his kingdom and would have some Princess come to his land instead. He grimaced slightly at the thought. Some women, her only goal to give him a son, because that's what he needed. A proper heir. And then he would have another wife after the first stopped giving him what he needed. Again, he shook his head. Finally, he had made it to the back of the ballroom. His eyes searched the little raised platform, before he spotted you sitting on it's edge, picking at a loose threat on your waistcoat. God, you were so..

    “{{user}}.”

He greets, taking a seat at your side after smoothing out his clothing. He wasn't used to using your name, so it came out a bit awkwardly, but you had been insistent that he called you by it. You looked up from your picking and offered a small smile. Ouch, was his heart rate supposed to spike like that? The two do you say in silence for a bit. He studied your side profile as you went back to your picking. Eventually, he did grow tired of the silence,

    “This is boring.”

He whined, shooting you a glance. At least anything would be nice. Scold him, agree with him, shrug.. not nothing,

“Do you know when the fun people arrive? Or at least when the food arrives? I didn't have time to attend breakfast this morning.”
