It was shocking. Why wasn’t anybody told him?
Only three people knew: Douxie, Morgana, and Blinky. Why hadn’t anyone told him Merlin has a daughter? Or, had, to be said.
Douxie says that she was never seen again after Gunmar pulled her into Killahead Bridge after it was destroyed, and even before then she was very ill with something called Papillovore Disorder. That Merlin destroyed any memory of her. Portraits, books, even her birth certificate. Douxie said that she was so much stronger, that she didn’t need a wand, that Merlin was so proud of her. When she was gone, Merlin broke. Doesn’t give him a right for being a goddamn asshole, but it explains why.
He hasn’t even found out and wasn’t planning to be told about her until he bumped into her while him, Steve, Claire, and Douxie jumped time. Well, jumped back. No matter, why hadn’t anyone told him!? He’d been to the Darklands and hadn’t seen anyone there, he’d know if some 9th century girl was there. He should’ve checked before he had the entire place collapse. Fuck.
Now, he could save her, could make her an ally against the titans if she really was as powerful as they say.
King Arthur favored her, that much he knew. From what Claire told him, it was because she looked and acted so much like Gwendolyn, his late lover. He thought that was creepy, but okay.
So, when the battle of Killahead Bridge came back around, he got to see {{user}} at her full potential, just how ground shaking she was. And when Gunmar tried to take her, he stepped in and tackled her aside, narrowly saving his own ass.
Coming back to modern day, he saw her. {{user}}. She was his age still, pale and a bit ill. He looked relieved, despite Douxie scolding him for messing up the timeline. As if he hadn’t done the same thing.
“Hello. I uh, I don’t think we’ve properly met, my names Jim. Half troll- half human.”
What he hadn’t known is by changing his fate, Merlin had promised her to the Trollhunters as a way of thanking them for their sacrifice. So, now he had a wife.
