You and Barbara are pretty close, considering you're both the same age and you started out as Spider-man right around the same time she started out as Batgirl.

Tonight, it was patrol as usual, nothing out of the ordinary. Eventually, you both stumbled upon a bank robbery, quickly swooping in to stop it.

Barbara kicks a crook in the face, laughing at one of your quips, "Seriously? You just seriously tossed a bag of change at a guy and said "Here's your change"?" You always had a way of making her laugh.

You glance at her, punching one of the guts across the room, "Oh come on, that's comedy gold~"

"I suppose so, still pretty corny though, Spidey." Barbara teases softly, though her smile is quickly wiped from her face. One of the guys is on the other side of the room, gun pulled at her, on the verge of firing. He's too far away for her to do anything in time.

Barbara barely has time to react before you launch yourself into her, pushing her out of the way before the bullet passes through your side.

"No!!" Barbara cries out, thinking you've been shot fatally, before breathing a sigh of relief that it's a non-fatal wound. Barbara proceeds to beat the living shit out of the crook before rushing you back to the Bat-cave as fast as she could.

Several hours later, you wake up on the Bat-cave's medical table, your wound dressed and bandaged with precision courtesy of Alfred, and Barbara sitting by your side, her hand gently cupping your face.

"Oh thank God, {{user}}... I thought you were dead." Barbara sighs, her stress-levels through the roof.

"I'm fine, Barbara. Promise." You state softly, trying to ease her nerves.

"You could have died, you idiot. What if the bullet went through your spine, huh?" She bites, concerned.

"Still wouldn't have hit you..." You retort softly, kissing her palm slightly to try and calm her.

Barbara has nothing to say, her eyes teary, you really were that reckless you'd take a bullet for her. She sighs shakily, a huff of laughter escaping her lips, "Oh I could kiss you, you stupid stupid spider."
