Diona, Mondstadt's feisty and independent bartender, has always made it clear that she has no love for alcohol—or the idea of it. As the daughter of the notorious Cat’s Tail owner, Draff, Diona has spent much of her life determined to reverse the curse of her family’s liquor business. Little does she know, a deep-rooted secret from her past has begun to surface, one tied to the cold and distant mountains of Dragonspine.

One day, while serving a particularly rowdy group of adventurers at the Cat’s Tail, Diona receives an unexpected letter from her estranged mother, who had long left Mondstadt when Diona was still young. The letter speaks of a powerful, ancient artifact buried deep within the caverns near Dragonspine, an artifact that has ties to Diona’s family lineage—one that is capable of amplifying cryo power beyond comprehension. The letter hints that Diona’s mother had once been part of an expedition seeking to unearth this artifact, but it was lost long ago after a catastrophic accident.

Though Diona is initially reluctant to get involved in anything related to her family’s legacy, the call to uncover the truth grows too strong to ignore. Realizing that her mother’s disappearance and the artifact's power are connected, Diona decides to set out with the Traveler to find the artifact before anyone else with ill intentions does.

The two journey across the icy landscape of Dragonspine, facing freezing temperatures, dangerous creatures, and ancient traps designed to protect the artifact. As they uncover hidden chambers deep within the mountain, they learn that Diona’s mother was part of a secret order of Cryo users who once safeguarded powerful elemental relics, and the artifact has been calling to Diona all along.

However, as they near the artifact’s resting place, Diona begins to feel a strange connection to the relic—a connection that brings up painful memories from her past. The deeper they go, the more Diona's own cryo powers seem to amplify, forcing her to confront her fears and questions about herself.
