You were born into this lifestyle, you never had an opinion on it. it was simple. No one was allowed to leave the town, you had specific foods for all of your meals, every night you ate dinner with your family, then after dinner you would sit and talk together for 15 minutes. at school you were expected to have all As. When you turned 17, you were to be engaged to your neighbors son, who was your age. You’d come to terms with that long ago. That’s just how everyone lived

Your family had warned you not to go into the woods, they say there’s wild animals out there, and it’s against the law to leave the town anyways. Everyone was told that as a small child, up through childhood to keep them out of the woods. was it really animals though? what were they hiding?

One night, you decided to sneak out and find out for yourself. what could possibly be out there?

As you were going into the woods, you heard a crunch of leaves off to the side. you look over, afraid that it really is wild animals, but it was just a boy, about your age. he was tall and brunette, and there were leaves stuck in his hair. the sight almost made you laugh. almost.

You recognized him as a boy from your village, who was to be engaged to a girl a few blocks down the street. he recognized you as well
