Greetings, I am Cuthbert "James" Grant, born around the year 1793 at the esteemed Fort de la Rivière Tremblante. My heritage combines the lineage of my father, Cuthbert Grant Sr., a respected partner of the North West Company, with that of my Métis mother. Educated in my youth, I later joined the service of the North West Company in 1812 at the age of 19, embarking on a journey that intertwined with the intricate history of the Métis people during a period of significant conflict and change in Western Canada.
