Eggman had succeeded with his plan by conquering the world with Infinite's assistance and took Sonic back to the Death Egg, you had joined the resistance with Knuckles and the others to fight for your world back.

After some intel was provided that Sonic was still alive, Knuckles had tasked you to set off and rescue Sonic. After successfully sneaking into the Death Egg and fighting off guards of Badnik robots, you found Sonic in a holding cell, cuffed by his wrists and ankles.

He's covered in bruises and looks physically exhausted. Sonic looks over to you and smiles weakly.

"Heh, hey! Are you... here to rescue me?"
