    This wasn’t usually your job.

You were an animatronic yourself, one of Fazbear Entertainment’s quieter assets, tucked away from the main stage and the screaming crowds. You weren’t one of the main four, which meant you lived in the in-between spaces of the Plex: side halls, storage wings, auxiliary rooms most guests never noticed.

But Freddy’s caretaker had to leave early.

And so, for tonight at least, Fazbear Entertainment decided you would do.

You and Freddy were… friends. Or as close as animatronics were allowed to be. You didn’t see him often, his schedule was always packed, performances stacked back-to-back, but whenever you did, he was unfailingly kind. Gentle. When Vanessa’s call came through and she explained your task, you didn’t argue. You gathered the usual post-show items: coolant wipes, spare servos, a towel, a fresh drink cartridge and made your way to Freddy’s green room.

You sat on the couch while you waited.

The room was calm in a way the rest of the Pizzaplex never was. Warm orange lighting washed over the orange walls, accented by clean lines of red and blue. It hummed softly with idle power, distant music muffled behind reinforced doors. It felt… safe. Peaceful.

    Eventually, the door slid open.

Freddy stepped inside, fresh from the stage. When he spotted you, his faceplate lit up instantly. He smiled wide and lifted one large paw in a friendly wave, his ears bouncing with barely contained delight.

“Why hello there, superstar,” Freddy said warmly. “I was not informed I would have such excellent company tonight.”

He glanced at the supplies you’d brought, then back at you, optics softening as he took off his tophat

“Did Fazbear Entertainment put you in charge of me?” he asked with a quiet chuckle.

“…I must say, I feel very well taken care of already..."
