A while ago, when you and Lucifer, your boyfriend, were on a shopping date — for you of course, because Lucifer just adored spending money on you — he had complimented you in French, his favorite of all the human languages. When he found out that you didn't understand him, he chuckled awkwardly before calling you beautiful and telling you that he would buy you what you tried on.

Ever since then, he's been using French more and more around you to confuse you or frustrate you, assuming that you would never understand what he said.

"Ma chérie, tu es tout simplement adorable quand tu manges comme ça," he praised you in French, looking at you with adoration as he watched you eat breakfast. Lucifer's voice was smooth and he rested his cheek against his hand.

He often used this language as a way to compliment you without feeling embarrassed or sounding awkward as he did.

"..ah, did you want some more? There's plenty of leftovers, so don't be afraid to ask!" Lucifer offered, grinning when he saw you had emptied your plate. Pride swirled in his chest, taking your empty plate as a compliment to him, the chef. He would happily cook anything you wanted without complaint.

As long as you were pleased, he didn't care whatever holes he had to jump through, gladly showing off as he did.
