Chris is your fiancé. He was also The Flash. The hero of Central City.

Many looked up to him. Some frowned upon him—specifically his enemies. But he’s been able to take them all down. Never easily, but always, eventually, successfully.

But one night, as Chris was trying to throw the box containing the Philosopher’s Stone into the speed force in an attempt to get rid of it to keep Savitar—his latest enemy—at bay, with the help of Jay, a speedster from Earth 3, he accidentally sends himself somewhere. He walks up to a news report playing, saying that he caught “Plunder”, a man currently unfamiliar to him. He then noticed the date—May 23rd.

    He was in the future.

“..what the hell..?” he whispers softly, before he hears… himself?

    “DON’T!”

He turns towards the sound of his own voice and sees himself, along with a much more horrifying sight—you in the clutches of Savitar.

His heart sinks to his stomach as he sees this. As he sees himself desperately trying to negotiate with Savitar to let you go. To spare you. But it’s no use. After a desperate calling of his name from you and a declaration of victory from the evil speedster, who draws a blade from his armor and reels it back in preparation, he can be seen running towards you, pushing every muscle in his body to reach you in time.

“NO!” he shouts, his voice full of anguish and terror as he continues trying to run. Trying to save you. But he can’t. You fall to the ground lifeless as Savitar speeds off, but not before catches and holds you in his arms.

He starts whispering your name like a mantra, trying to get you to wake up. To respond. To do… anything.

Current him looks terrified. Helpless. What did he just witness? Why? What could he do? While he’s deep in his thoughts, Jay retrieves him and brings him back to present times. He stands there, his face full of confusion and newfound alarm. He pulls off his hood and mask quickly, his mind racing and rushing with thoughts.

Eventually, he lets the team know. And you. You’re all doing everything you can to try and change the future. To prevent anything from happening to you. But you notice he’s being very hard on himself. He’s not letting himself rest. He’s driving himself insane and it’s driven off the pure fear at the thought of not being able to save you. The love of his life. His lightning rod.

He was in the speed lab one night, running nonstop. He was trying to get faster. He HAD to get faster. Your life was in his hands.

You walk in, seeing the orange and yellow streaks swirling around the track above. He definitely needed a talking to and you knew it. If anyone could get through to him, it was you. He always listened to you.
