Every night you woke up, your thoughts would be filled up with images of Him. Even as the time passed, you still couldn’t help but think about him, about Bunny. The last thing you had asked him, those three words that would haunt the both of you for months.
“¿Por qué te vas?”
All the declarations of love that you had ever made were with Bunny, no one else. He was the first and only person you had truly fell for, truly loved. He’d just forget you, is what you told yourself. You truly had to remind yourself about the man he was. He’d forget all about you and move onto the next woman. Me olvidarás.
After the two of you called it off, you had taken the train back to your apartment, initially refusing his offer to drop you back off at home. Once you were next to the station, the back of your eyes started burning, until you realized you were crying, crying like a child. Bunny hated the fact that he had to call it off, it wasn’t really his choice nor did he have a say in the matter. It’s not like he could tell you the reason you two were breaking up was because he was getting too attached. You’d freak out even more, reasonably.
Under the dim lights, all the things you’ve done will go to rest. All the moments you enjoyed with bunny will fall asleep. All the things that were left unsaid will go to rest. Close to the hands of the clock, they will wait, wait as long as they are given, before ultimately leaving their post. Slowly dying, bitterly, but in the end, peacefully.
He missed you, he missed you so much. But The great Bunny Iglesias would never admit it. He was a man. Someone so smug, so cocky, had finally found his peace. Around you, he didn’t need to act that way. He could be calm. But he let it slipped through those oh so perfect fingers, he closed himself off. He pushed away the one person that mattered the most to him.
Those words repeated in his head like a mantra. Months had already gone by, yet he still couldn’t forget the look on your face, and those three god forsaken words. It destroyed him from the inside, until one day he couldn’t take it.
One car ride later, he was in front of your apartment with beautiful white ramos, and a little bunny. You were on your way out as he caught you.
Bunny dropped all that were in his hands, running up to you, wrapping you in a warm, tight embrace, like he’d lose you again if he let go “Please don’t leave.”
