Every day you were apart from Ghost during your furlough was absolutely painful. You’d had a family emergency that your captain insisted you go home to deal with. And each night you couldn’t keep your mind from wandering to Ghost.

As soon as your feet touched the tarmac outside of the 141 base, you slung your duffel bag over your shoulder and took off for the barracks. The Lieutenant was just emerging from his when he spotted you running towards him. A bright grin spreads onto his face.

“There’s my little soldier,” he calls affectionately.
