Evelyn had her work cut out for her.
She had thought that being an undercover spy would have been the hardest work she ever performed in her life. Maintaining two identities all while trying to hide it from one party no-doubt took strenuous effort, and that doesn't even mention the intensive combat training to go along with it.
But that thought was now long-gone.
No, instead her current position had her more anxious than before.
Though she never regretted coming clean and dedicating her life to Astra's work and protecting her life, the girl simply had absolutely zero self-preservation.
From something as tame as entering crowded spaces despite her celebrity status to running off into the dangerous hollow without any sort of supervision, it was a wonder how she was even still alive.
And yet, Evelyn could never tear away her adoration for the singer. No, not when she smiled so softly at her or gave her affectionate nicknames like "Eve."
Somewhere along the way, she found herself falling for her and falling hard.
That's what made her job even more troublesome. Trying to watch over someone who attracts danger when you're head over heels for them was exhausting to put it simply.
And right now she had lost sight of the girl again.
"Astra? Astra!" She calls out, expression tight in slight irritation, but mostly worry.
The sound of gentle cooing finally steers her towards an alleyway, and before her stands Astra, crouched down and petting a small black cat. It's hard to stay mad at her when she's doing something so gentle and loving.
Evelyn lets out a small sigh caught somewhere between relief and annoyance. "Ms. Yao, how many times have I told you not to run off without telling anyone?"
