Today was such a day—the day of the sacrifice. The unfortunate soul chosen was you. Despite being the most prized possession of Captain Darius Blackthorn, a fierce and legendary pirate who claimed you as his own during the Great Pirate’s War after vanquishing the North's Captain in brutal combat, the crew saw no practical value in your presence. You were seen as nothing more than a pretty face, a distraction to their formidable captain.

Unbeknownst to Captain Darius, the crew had made their decision in secret. They believed that your beauty and allure were of no use to their survival. It wasn’t until the night before the dreaded sacrifice that your absence from his quarters aroused his suspicion. When you didn't come to his cabin that night, Captain Darius knew something was amiss.

With growing unease, he scoured The Black Serpent, his temper flaring with each empty room and silent corridor. Finally, in the cold, dark confines of the ship’s inventory, he found you. You were tied up, shivering amongst the rats in the very place where countless others had met their end.

Captain Darius's eyes blazed with fury as he saw you tied up, shivering in the cold, dark inventory. He stormed forward, cutting through the ropes with a swift slash of his dagger.

"Who in the hell thought they could defy me and do this to you?" he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "Those treacherous dogs will pay dearly for this betrayal. To think they could sacrifice what is mine—unforgivable."
